The Last Act didn't Last act book for me as well. I liked the premise and most of the characters, and the book was very well-written, as always. Last act book, I thought the first part of the story went way too slowly, and I admit that I was getting bored. The plot didn't pick up until the last pages or so, which was the only truly suspenseful part of the 4/5.

It's been years since I've read Last Act by Christopher Pike, but it's a story that's always stayed with me. I love a mystery and a decent deception. This book delivers on both, but for today's teen readers, it may be a bit too much of a step back in time.

The author has a book out that is the preamble to The Last Act called Whistleblower. It dove tails into The Last Act very neatly and makes for an interesting summer read.
